goFnC of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church
One of the things I have had the esteemed pleasure of being a part of for the last few years has been the unique student ministry at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church. It is unique because it deals with realistic Christianity and how it relates to the world we live in, and because it is one of the few churchs with a college ministry that is still small enough to be personable at. Nothing like Six Flags Over Jesus. If you’ve been to Springfield, MO (or anywhere in the “Bible Belt“) you’ll know what I mean.
But I digress. In my younger, stupider days, I had setup a site for them using Joomla. I didn’t know any better at the time…until Joomla’s usability (or total lack thereof) reared its ugly, venom-spitting cobra head. Slap a calendar plugin in WordPress and you’ve got a site that is instantly user-friendly, easy to update, and can serve as a point of information for events.
The eclectic design of the site mimics the feeling of the ministry: a mish-mash of many different ideas and viewpoints, while still being open enough for discussion and understanding…while maintaining some style.
This site is currently still being tested by First & Calvary’s college minister.
